அடிவயிறு மற்றும் முதுகந்தண்டு வடம் என எல்லாமும் சேர்த்த கீழ்ப்பிரதேசத்தில் ஒரு பொல்லாத வலி எழுந்து பரவ, உடலெல்லாம் வியர்வை மழையில் நனைந்து போயிருந்தது அவளுக்கு.
பிள்ளைப் பேற்றுக்காக… தன் இரு உள்ளங்கைகளாலும் தலையணையை இறுக்கிப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டு,
உயிர் போகும் வலியை சுகித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த அந்த தருவாயிலும் கூட, மங்கையவள் மனதுக்குள் அவன் முகமே வந்து போனது!!
அவளது வெண்ணெய்யில் குழைத்துக் குழைத்து செய்தாற் போன்றிருக்கும் தேகம், அவளது முக்கலில்…. அப்படியே செந்நிறம் கொண்டு.. கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக வெளிறத் தொடங்கி அடங்க,
இறுதியில்… இதயத்துடிப்பையும், மூச்சையும் ஒரு சேர நிறுத்தும் வகையில்,
உள்ளிருந்து முதுகந்தண்டு வடத்திற்கு, குழந்தை காலால் ஒரு எத்தல் விட்டு உந்தியது போல தோற்றப்பாடு தோன்ற,
தன் ஒட்டுமொத்த பலத்தையும் திரட்டி.. குழந்தைக்கு ஜனனம் கொடுக்க தடுமாறிப் போனாள் மென்னிலா.
மூச்சையிழுத்துப் பிடித்து, “ஆஆஆஆஆ” என்று கத்திய வண்ணம், ஒரு மிகப்பெரும் சுமை தன் உடலில் இருந்து வெளியேற்ற,
அடுத்த நொடி அவள் காதுகளில் மென்மையாக கேட்டது, ‘கீச்’ என்று குழந்தை அழும் ஒலி!!
அடிவயிற்றில் முட்டிய சுகமான சுமையை இறக்கி வைத்த கணம்,
தனங்கள்.. ஆசுவாசமாக ஏறி இறங்க.. இறங்க… பெரும் பெரும் மூச்சுக்களை எடுத்து விட்ட வண்ணம் நின்றவளுக்கு, ஏனோ குழந்தை ஆணா? பெண்ணா? என்று பார்க்கக் கூடத் தோன்றவேயில்லை!!
இன்னும் ஏன்? குழந்தை முகத்தைக் காண வேண்டும் என்றோ.. அழும் குழந்தை ஆசுவாசப்பட.. மாரோடு அணைத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்றோ..தாய்ப்பால் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்றோ கூடத் தோன்றவேயில்லை.
மாறாக, அவளது சிந்தையை ஆக்கிரமித்துக் கொண்டிருந்ததெல்லாம்.. அவள் கலந்த விஷத்தை.. மனம் உவந்து சாப்பிட்டு விட்டு.. உயிருக்கு போராடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் கணவன் முகத்தைக் காண வேண்டும் என்பதேயாம்.
இப்போது தான் குழந்தையை பிரசவித்து விட்டு இருக்கும் தருணம்!!
ரொம்பவும் தளிர் உடம்பு வேறு.. இயற்கையாகவே இருக்கும் அதீத பட்ச உதிரப் போக்கும் வேறு.. இன்னொரு பக்கம் அவளை அலைக்கழித்துக் கொண்டிருக்க,
இத்தனையையும் பொருட்படுத்தவேயாமல்.. அங்கிருந்த வைத்தியர்களுக்கு..
குழந்தை பிரசவித்த பின்னாடி செய்யும் சின்னச் சிகிச்சையைக் கூட செய்ய விடாது.. ஒரு வெறி கொண்டவள் போல எழுந்தாள் மென்னிலா.
மனத்தில்.. தன் தலைவனை சென்று காண வேண்டும் என்ற ஆவல் மலையளவு இருந்தாலும் கூட, உடல் அவளிருந்த நிலையில் ஒத்துழைக்க மறுக்க மறுக்க… அதனை சட்டையே செய்யாதவள்…
அங்கிருந்து வெளியேறி தன் தலைவனைக் காண எத்தனித்தாள்.
வைத்தியர்களும், தாதிமார்களும்.. சட்டென எழுந்து.. அறையை விட்டும் வெளியேறப் போனவளை, அதிர்ச்சி மீதூறப் பார்த்த வண்ணம்,
அவளைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்த முயன்றவர்களாக, “மிஸ்.. என்ன பண்றீங்க?? இந்த நிலைமையில நீங்க எங்கேயும் எழுந்து போக முடியாது.. கமான்.. எங்க கூட கோஓபரேட் பண்ணுங்க.. இல்லைன்னா உங்க உடம்புக்கு தான் ஆபத்து” என்று மாறி மாறிச் சொல்லிய வண்ணம்.. அவளின் இரு கைகளையும் பற்றி இழுக்க முனைய,
அதையெல்லாம் ஒரு புயல் போலத் தள்ளிவிட்டவள், வெறி வந்தவள் போல கத்தத் தொடங்கினாள்.
“என்னை வ்விடூஊஊஊங்கஅஅ.. என்னை வ்விடூஊஊஊங்கஅஅ.. ந்.. நாஆஆஆன்.. என் மாஆஆமாஆவைப் பார்த்தாஆஆகணுஊஊம்!!… என்னை வ்விடுங்கஅஅஅஅ”என்று கத்தி ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் செய்து, அந்த அறையில் இருந்து வெளியேறியவள், தன் தலைவனை நாடித் தான் போனாள்.
அவன் எங்கிருக்கிறான்? தெரியாது!!
எப்படியிருக்கிறான்? தெரியாது!!
ஆனால்.. தளர்ந்து போன அவனது இறுதி முகமே.. அவள் சிந்தையில் ஞாபகம் வந்து வந்து.. உயிரோடு கொன்று கொண்டிருந்தது.
உடலின் கீழ்ப்பாதி பின்புறம் முழுவதும் செந்நீர் தன் தடத்தைப் பதித்திருக்க..
அவள் சென்ற வழியில்.. கால்களுக்கிடையில் வழிந்த இரத்தம்.. துளித் துளியாய் விழ விழ…
அத்தனையையும் பொருட்படுத்தாமல்.. ஒரு பைத்தியக்காரி போல.. தன் தலைவனை நாடி விரைந்தாள் அவள்.
தாதிமார்களும், சிற்றூழியர்களும்.. அவளது அசுர வேகத்துக்கு ஈடுகொடுக்க முடியாமல்.. “மேம்.. ப்ளீஸ் மேம்.. இது உங்களுக்கும் நல்லதல்ல.. குழந்தைக்கும் நல்லதல்ல.. ப்ளீஸ்.. நில்லுங்க”என்று பின்னாடியே ஓடி வர, அவர்களின் மொழிகள் எல்லாம் காதில் விழவேயில்லை.
அப்படி அவள்.. அந்த ஹாஸ்பிடல் காரிடாரில் ஒவ்வொரு இடமாக ஒரு பைத்தியக்காரி போல.. கண்ணீர் மல்க ஓடியவளாக,
தன் தலைவனின் ஆகாயச் சூரிய முகத்தையே தேடிய வண்ணம், உயிர் கரைக்கும் குரலில்,
“மாஹ்மாஹ்.. மாமமாஆஆ”என்று தேடிக் கொண்டே போன பொழுது.. அவளைக் கண்ட அத்தனை மனிதர்களின் கண்களிலும் கண்ணீர் துளி மிகுந்திருந்தது.
அவர்கள் இதயங்கள் அவள் நிலைமை என்னவென்று சரிவர அறியாமலேயே அவளுக்காக இரங்கவும் தொடங்கியது.
பரிதவித்துப் போய் ஓடி வந்தவந்தவளின் கண்களில்.. அந்த நேரம் பார்த்தா ‘பிரேத அறையும்’ விழுந்து தொலைக்க வேண்டும்??
அதிலும் ஒரு டிராலியில் இரு சிற்றூழியர்கள்.. வெள்ளைநிற துணியினால் மூடிய வண்ணம்…. ஒரு பிணத்தைத் தள்ளிச் செல்ல, டிராலியைத் தள்ளிய சிற்றூழியர்களில் ஒருவன்,
“பாவம்ப்பா.. வாழ வேண்டிய வயசு.. என்ன கஷ்டமோ.. எலி மருந்து எடுத்து சாப்பிட்டிருச்சு.. அல்பாயுசுல போயிட்டான்”என்று சொல்ல,
அவர்களின் உரையாடல் கேட்டுப் புழுவாய் துடித்துப் போனாள் பரிதியின் ஆண்டாள்.
‘இது.. அவன் தான்.. அவனே தான்.. அவள் கலந்த விஷம் சாப்பிட்ட அவனே தான்’ என்று இதயம் வேறு அடித்துச் சொல்ல,
தன் தவறால் தன் மேல் உயிரையே வைத்திருந்த கணவன் உயிர் பரிதாபமாக போனதை எண்ணி.. காலம் கடந்து விட்டதை எண்ணி.. உள்ளிழுத்த மூச்சு வெளிவர மறுத்தவளாக,
சுவரோடு சாய்ந்து பல்லி போல நின்றவள்,அடுத்த கணம்.. பிரேத அறையின் முன்னாடியே தரையில் இரண்டாக மடிந்து அமர்ந்து வெடித்து அழுதே விட்டாள்.
‘ஐயோ.. என்ன பாவம் செய்து விட்டாள் அவள்? ‘பழிவாங்குகிறேன் பேர்வழி’ என்று அவளது வாழ்க்கையையே அல்லவா தொலைத்து விட்டாள் அவள்?? அவள் மேல் கள்ளங்கபடமற்ற காதல் கொண்ட உன்னதப் பரிதி.. அவளுக்காக மீண்டும் வருவானா?’என்று மனம் கிடந்து அல்லாட,
உடலில் எந்த வித சலனமும் அற்று, ரோபோ போல விட்டத்தை வெறித்துப் பார்த்தவளாகவே அமர்ந்திருந்தவளை, திரும்பவும் எழ வைக்க முயல… தாதிமார்கள் ஆயிரம் முயற்சிகள் எடுத்தும் பிரயோஜனமேயில்லாமல் போனது!!
இருந்த இடத்திலேயே உணர்வுகள் மரத்துப் போன ஜடம் போல இருந்தவளுக்கு.. ‘தன்னால் கணவன் உயிர் போனது’ ஒரு குற்றவுணர்வைக் கொடுக்க.. அவள் கண்களில் இருந்து மௌனமாக வழிந்து கொண்டிருந்தது கண்ணீர்.
கண் கெட்ட பிறகு சூரிய நமஸ்காரம் போல.. அவன் இறந்த பின்பு துளிர்த்த அன்புக்கும் தான் ஏது பயன்?
காலம் கடந்து முளைத்த காதல்.. அவனை உயிருடன் தான் திரும்பத் தருமா??
உடல் தான் உயிருடன் இருக்க.. உணர்வோ மரத்துப் போயிருந்தது.
ஆனால் இதயத்திலோ… அவளைக் குற்றவாளிக் கூண்டில் நிறுத்தி.. மனசாட்சி பற்பல உணர்ச்சிபூர்வமான கேள்விகள் கேட்டுக் கொண்டே போனது.
அந்த கணம்.. சற்றே சித்தம் தெளிந்தவளின் கண் முன்னாடி.. அந்த ஹாஸ்பிட்டலின் நீண்ட காரிடாரின் ஓர் முனையில்… சின்னப் புள்ளியாக.. வாசு மாமா.. ஒரு அறைக்குள் நுழைவது புரிய,
எங்கிருந்து தான் ஜீவன் வந்ததுவோ அந்த மங்கைக்கும்??
அத்தனை தாதிமார்கள் சேர்ந்து எழ வைத்தும்.. எழாதவள்.. அந்நொடி வாசு மாமாவைக் கண்ட அந்நொடி.. வீறுகொண்ட பெண்புலி போல எழுந்தவள்,
தன் தளர்ந்த நடையிலும் வேகம் கூட்டி விரைந்தாள் வாசு மாமா உள்நுழைந்த அறையை நோக்கி.
வாசு மாமா உள் நுழைந்த அறையில்.. எந்தவிதமான சலனமும் இன்றி.. முகத்தில் ஆக்ஸிஜன் மாஸ்க்குடன்.. ஈஈஜி கருவி அவனது இதயத் துடிப்பை.. சற்றே ஏறி இறங்க காட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்க.. அமைதியாக துயின்று கொண்டிருந்தான் பரிதிவேல் வீரன்.
ஆம், சிற்றூழியர்கள் தள்ளிக் கொண்டு போன விஷம் கொடுத்து இறந்த நபர்.. பரிதிவேல் வீரனாக இல்லாமல் போனது மென்னிலாவின் அதிர்ஷ்டமே தான்!!
அவனுக்கு ஆயுசு கெட்டியாகவே இருக்கிறது என்று சித்திரகுப்தனும் ஏடுகளில் எழுதியிருந்திருக்க வேண்டும்!!
பல மணி நேர சிகிச்சையின் பலனாக.. காப்பாற்றப்பட்டவன்.. சுயநினைவற்றவனாக.. அந்த அறையில் உலகம் மறந்து, தன் மனைவியின் துரோகம் மறந்து, தான் அப்பாவாகி விட்டதைக் கூட அறியாமல்.. துயின்று கொண்டேயிருந்தான்.
அது மிகவும் ஆழமான நித்திரை போலும். அறைக்குள் யார் வருகிறார்கள்; போகிறார்கள் என்று கூடத் தெரியாத நித்திரை அது!!
அங்கே தன் மருமகனின் அருகாமையிலேயே உதவியாக நின்றிருந்த வாசு மாமாவுக்கோ.. லேபர் அறையில்.. பரிதியின் மனைவி..
குழந்தை கிடைக்க போராடிக் கொண்டிருப்பது அறிந்தாலும், ஏனோ அவருக்கு தன் மருமகப்பிள்ளையின் அருகில் இருப்பதே முக்கியமாகப் பட்டது போலும்!!
அதனால் பரிதி அனுமதித்து சிகிச்சைக்குள்ளாக்கப்படும் அறையிலேயே தஞ்சமடைந்திருந்தவருக்கு,
சோர்ந்து போன பரிதி முகம் காண்கையிலே.. ‘இந்த நிலாப்பெண்ணுக்கு எப்படித் தான் சாதத்தில் விஷம் வைக்க மனம் வந்ததோ?’ என்று நெஞ்சு பொருமிக் கொண்டேயிருந்தது.
அந்த கணம்.. அவரே எதிர்பார்த்திராத வேளை.. படாரென்று அறைக்கதவு திறக்கப்பட்டு.. அங்கே ஏகத்துக்கும் கீழ்மூச்சு, மேல்மூச்சு வாங்க.. அலங்கோலமான கோலத்தில் அரக்கப் பறக்க வந்து நின்றிருந்த மென்னிலாவைக் கண்டதும்.. நெஞ்சம் பதைபதைத்துப் போனது அவருக்கு.
மகப்பேற்று அறையில் இருந்த பெண்ணவள் எப்படி இங்கே?
அவளது வயிற்றில் இருந்த பாரம் இறங்கியதைக் கண்ணுற்றவருக்கு, குழந்தை பிறந்த மறுவிநாடி அவள், கணவனைக் காண அலறியடித்துக் கொண்டு ஓடி வந்திருப்பது புரிந்தது.
அறைக்குள் வந்தவளின் கண்கள்.. அறையை ஒரு நப்பாசையுடன் துலாவி.. இறுதியில் மஞ்சத்தில் தஞ்சமடைந்திருக்கும் தன் மன்னவனைக் கண்டதும் தான் போன உயிர் திரும்பி வந்தது போல ஆசுவாசம் எய்தியது.
கைகள்.. அவனைத் தழுவிட நாடி துடி துடிக்க, அவள் ஓடோடி வர, அவளது விரைந்த நடை தடைப்படும் முகமாக கேட்டது வாசு மாமாவின் பொருமும் குரல்!!
எப்போதும் பொறுமை காக்கும் வாசு மாமாவோ.. அவள் சோற்றில் விஷம் வைத்த ஈனச்செயலைப் பொறுக்க மாட்டாது,
சிவந்த விழிகளுடன், “நீ என் மாப்ளய ஏத்துக்குவேன்னு நெனச்சே…. ஆனா இப்படி பண்ணிப் போடுவேனு.. நினைக்கவே இல்ல!!என் மாப்ளய பழிவாங்க.. போயும் போயும்.. திங்குற சோத்துல விஷம் வைக்கோணுமுன்னா தோணுச்சு?..”என்று சொன்ன வார்த்தைகள்.. அந்தக் கொலைகாரியின் இதயத்தில் சென்று தாக்க வேண்டிய இடத்தில் சரியாகவே தாக்கியது.
ஆம்.. அவனைப் பழிவாங்க முயன்று முயன்று தோற்றுப் போனவள்.. இறுதியாக கைகளில் எடுத்த கேவலமான அஸ்த்திரம்.. சோற்றிலே விஷம் வைப்பது!!
‘வீட்டுக்கு வரும் எதிரிக்கு கூட.. இப்படியான மா பாதகம் செய்யாத தமிழர் வம்சாவளியில் பிறந்த பெண் செய்யும் செயலது காண்.. ச்சீ’என்று அவளது மனமே அவளை வெறுத்து ஒதுக்க,
அழுகை வெடித்து வர, விம்பங்கள் எல்லாம் இரண்டிரண்டாகத் தெரிய அழுதவள்,
தள்ளாடிய குரலில் “நீங்களும் ஏன் சித்.. தப்பாஹ்.. என்னைப் புரிஞ்சிக்காமல்.. இப்படியெல்லாம் பேசு.. றீங்க? சத்தியமா உண்மயெல்லாம் தெரிஞ்சிருந்தாஆஆ.. இப்படி பண்ணியிரு.. ப்பேனாஆஹ்? ”என்று அழுதவளைக் காண..
கொஞ்சம் கழிவிரக்கம் மிகுந்திருந்தாலும் கூட, அவள் உணவில் விஷம் வைத்ததைத் தான் தாங்கவே முடியவில்லை அவருக்கு.
அவளோ யாருக்காகவும் காத்திருக்காமல்… இவன் என் கணவன்.. யாரிடம் அனுமதி கேட்க வேண்டும் என்ற உரிமையுடன்… கணவனை நாடி ஓடி வந்தவளுக்கு,நடப்பது எதுவுமே அறியாமல்.. துயிலும் கணவனின் முகம்.. அவளுள் பழைய காதல் மென்னிலாவை மீண்டும் துளிர்க்க செய்தது.
அவனது காற்றிலாடும் கேசத்தை.. காதலுடன் வருடியவளாக.. குனிந்து, கண்கள் மூடி, நெற்றியிலே முத்தம் இட , கண்ணீர் துளி அவன் கன்னத்தில் விழுந்தது.
குற்றவுணர்வும், காதலும் மேலோங்க, தழுதழுத்த குரலில், “மாஆஆமாஆஹ்.. என்னை மன்னிச்சிருங்கஹ் மாமாஹ்” என்றவளுக்கு.. கணவனைக் கண்டு விட்டோம்.. அவன் நலம் என்று உடல் முழுவதும் ஒரு நிம்மதி மெல்ல மெல்ல பரவியத் தொடங்கியது.
அதன் பிறகு தான்.. மென்னிலாவுக்கு உடலின் தளர்ச்சி, பலவீனம் என ஒட்டுமொத்த விஷயங்களும்.. அவளது மரத்துப் போன மரமண்டைக்குப் புரிய,
அதிக உதிரப்போக்கு காரணமாக… அடுத்த நொடி.. கண்கள் இருட்டிக் கொண்டு வர.. அவன் மார்பிலேயே மூர்ச்சையாகி விழுந்திருந்தாள் அவள்.
அந்த கணம்.. அவளைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து அறைக்குள் வந்த சிற்றூழியர்களும், தாதிமார்களும் அவளை தூக்கிக் கொண்டு செல்ல முற்பட,
அதைத் திடுக்கிடும் விழிகளுடன் பார்த்திருந்தவருக்கு, மென்னிலாவின் அன்பு.. நடிப்பாகத் தோன்றவேயில்லை.

மூன்று நாட்களின் பின்னர்,
அவள் குழந்தையை பிரசவித்த கணம் ஆடிய ஆட்டத்தில், ‘கணவனுக்கு என்னானதோ.. ஏதானதோ’என்று அவள் பதறிய பதற்றத்தில்..
சாதாரணமான எளிய முறையில்.. குழந்தையை அவள் இயற்கை வழிமுறையில் பெற்றிருந்தாலும் கூட.. அவளை இந்தத் தாய்மார்களைத் தாக்கும், ‘தற்காலிக இரத்த அழுத்தம்’ தாக்கலானது.
அதனாலோ என்னவோ.. நார்மலாக பிரசவம் ஆன பின்பும் கூட, பிரசவத்துக்கு பிறகு இன்னும் மேலதிகமாக மூன்று நாட்கள்.. அவள் மருத்துவமனையிலேயே தங்கி விடும்படியானது.
மருத்துவமனையில் தங்கியிருந்தவளை ஒத்தாசையாக கவனித்துக் கொள்ள, மஞ்சுவின் தாயார்.. வாசு மாமாவால் நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் கூட.. அந்த மூன்று நாட்களில் கணவனின் நிலவரம் அறியாமல் தான் துடித்துப் போனாள் அவள்.
மஞ்சுவின் தாயாரிடம் துருவித் துருவிக் கேட்ட போது.. அவன் நேற்றே டிஸ்சார்ஜ்ஜாகி விட்டதாக தகவல் கிடைக்க, அவளைப் பார்க்கத் தோன்றாவிட்டாலும்.. அவனது குழந்தை முகம் காணாமல் சென்றிருக்க கணவனின் மேல் ஆத்திரம் மிகுந்தது அவளுக்கு.
அவள் மீது கோபம் இருக்கலாம்!! ஏனென்றால் அவள் கொலைகாரப் பாவி.
ஆனால் குழந்தை.. குழந்தை என்ன பாவம் செய்தது? இந்தப் பிஞ்சு மதலையின் முகம் காணத் தோன்றவேயில்லையா அவனுக்கு? என்ற ஆதங்கத்தில்.. திரும்பவும் வெடித்து வரும் போல இருந்தது அழுகை.
இந்த துயரத்தால் மீண்டும் இரத்தம் அழுத்தம் எகிறினால்.. வீட்டுக்கு சென்று.. அவன் முகத்தைக் காண முடியாமல்.. இன்னும் மேலதிகமாக இரண்டு நாட்கள்..
இங்கேயே தங்கிவிட வேண்டும் என்ற நிலை வந்தால்?? என்று தோன்ற.. முயன்று தன் மனக்கவலையை மாற்ற முனைந்தாள் அவள்.
தந்தைக்கும் தாய்க்கும் இடையில் நடக்கும் காதல் யுத்தம் அறியாத.. பஞ்சுக்குவியல் போன்ற மென்மையான அவளது குழந்தை.. தன் கைகளால் தாய் மார்பை இறுகப் பற்றிய வண்ணம்.. பால் அருந்திக் கொண்டிருக்க,
அவளது குழந்தையின் முகத்தைப் பார்க்கும் போது கூட.. கணவனின் சாயலே மனதில் தோன்றியது அவளுக்கு.
இயல்பிலேயே அவளது குழந்தைக்கு.. உடம்பெங்கும் முளைத்திருக்கும் மெல்லிய பூனைமுடி ஜாஸ்தி!!
அதன் மென்மையை மெல்ல வருடியவளுக்கு, அதன் தந்தை.. அவள் மீது வைத்திருக்கும் உண்மை அன்பு அறியாது..
தாய் செய்த கீழ்த்தரமான செயலில் குழந்தையையும்.. பரிதிவேல் வீரன் வெறுத்து விடுவானோ என்ற ஐயம் மிகுந்தது.
குழந்தையையும், அவளையும் அவன் அடியோடு வெறுத்து விட்டதனால் தானா.. மருத்துவமனையை விட்டும் சென்றவன்.. திரும்பவும் அவளைப் பார்க்க வரவேயில்லை??
அன்போடு குழந்தைக்கு முத்தமிட்டவளின் மனதில் நெருஞ்சி முள்ளாக வாட்டி எடுக்கலானது குற்றவுணர்வு.
‘அவனை கொலை செய்திருந்தால்…?? அன்றேல் அவனும் தான் அவன் செய்த மாபாதகத்தில் இறந்து விட்டிருந்தால்?? அவன் சாயலே கொண்டு பிறந்திருக்கும் குழந்தையை.. எந்த குற்றவுணர்வும் இன்றி..தாய்மையன்பு மீதூற..மென்மையாக அணைத்து முத்தமிட்டிருக்கவும் தான் முடியுமோ? இந்தக்குழந்தை ஒவ்வொரு நொடியும்.. அவள் கொன்ற அவனையல்லவா நினைவுறுத்தியிருக்கும்??’ என்று தோன்ற, கசந்தது இதயம்.
அன்று மதியம்.. மருத்துவமனையிலேயே தங்கியிருந்தவளின் இரத்த அழுத்தம் எல்லாம் கட்டுக்கு வந்து.. அவள் டிஸ்சார்ஜ் செய்யப்பட்டதும்..
அவளை அழைத்துச் செல்வதற்காக ‘கணவன் வருவான்’ என்று ஆசையாக அவள் எதிர்பார்த்திருக்க, அவள் ஆசை எல்லாம் நிராசையாகும் படி வந்தது என்னமோ வாசு மாமா தான்.
அறையில் வந்து நின்ற.. வாசு மாமாவைத் தாண்டி..தன் கணவனும் வந்திருக்கிறானா? என்று அறைக்கதவை.. ஆவலோடு துலாவியவளாக,
ஏமாற்றம் தந்த வலிகளுடன், “அவர் எங்கே சித்தப்பா…? அவர் வரலையா? எ.. என் மேல கோபம் இருக்கலாம்.. ஆனா..குழந்த முகத்த பார்க்கணும்னு கூட அவருக்குத் தோணலையா?” என்று கேட்க, வாசு மாமாவோ இறுகிய முகத்துடன்.. நின்றிருந்தார்.
குறுகுறுவென்று தன் முகத்தையே பார்க்கும் மென்னிலாவின் முகத்தைப் பாராமல், வேறெங்கோ பார்த்தபடி,
குழந்தையின் ஆடைகள் அடங்கிய கூடையைத் தூக்கியவராக, “இல்லமா.. அவ… அவன் நல்லா தான் இருக்கான்.. வா வீட்டுக்குப் போகலாம்… அங்கன போய் பேசிக்கலாம்”என்றவர், முன்னாடி நடக்க,
குழந்தையை நெஞ்சோடு அணைத்துக் கொண்டு, பின்னாடியே நடந்தவளின் புருவங்கள்.. அவனது வருகையின்மையை எண்ணி முழுநேரமும் இடுங்கியே காட்சி தரலானது.
வீட்டிலே.. ஆரத்தி எடுக்கப்பட்டு உள்நுழைந்தவளுக்கு, அப்போதேனும் கணவன் கண்களில் எதிர்ப்பட மாட்டானா என்ற ஆவலில் வெந்து தணிந்து கொண்டிருந்தது உள்ளம்.
ஆனால் அவனோ அவள் எப்போது குழந்தையுடன் வீடு வந்து சேர்ந்தானோ… அப்போதே.. ‘வேலைப்பளு’ என்ற போலிப் போர்வையில்.. அவள் கண்களில் விழுந்து விடாமல் போக்குக் காட்டிக் கொண்டேயிருந்தான்.
மனைவி கண் விழிக்கும் முன்னம் எழுந்து பணிகளுக்கு செல்பவன், வேண்டுமென்றே, அவள் துயின்ற பிந்திய இரவில் வருவதும், போவதுமாக இருக்க, கணவனோடு மனம் விட்டுப் பேச எதிர்பார்த்திருந்த மங்கைக்கு ஏமாற்றமே கிட்டியது.
அதிலும் குழந்தை பிறந்து ஏழு நாட்களாகி விட்ட பின்னும்.. ஒரு தடவைக் கூட குழந்தையைப் பார்க்க பிரியம் கொள்ளாத கணவன் மேல்.. சின்ன கோபமும் ஊற்றெடுக்கலானது அவளுக்கு.
அன்றொருநாள் இரவு.. அவன் வருகைக்காக.. நடுநிசி கடந்த பின்னும் தூங்காமல் விழித்திருந்தவளின் கண்களில்.. பல நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு அகப்படவே செய்தான் அவளது ஆகாயச் சூரியன்.
ஆனால் என்ன..? அவன் வருகைக்காக காத்திருந்து காத்திருந்து.. காத்திருப்பின் எல்லையும்…
எல்லை கடந்த நேரம்.. உறக்கம் விழிகளைத் தழுவிக் கொண்ட கணப்பொழுதில் தான் வந்தான் அவளது தலைவன்.
சோர்ந்த விழிகளுடன்..தன் அறைக்கதவை அரவமேயெழுப்பாது திறந்த வண்ணம் உள்நுழைந்த பரிதி…
எப்போதும் அவளது அறையில் துயிலும் மனைவி.. இன்று அவனறையில் துயில்வதைக் கண்டு சில விநாடிகள் ஆடித்தான் போனான்.
கூடவே அவள் பக்கத்தில்.. அவனது அன்புக் குழந்தை இருப்பதைக் கண்டவனுக்கு.. அவனையும் அறியாமல்.. குழந்தையைக் காண ஓரெட்டு எடுத்து வைத்தது பாதம்!!
ஆனால் மனைவி துயில் கலைந்து விடுமோ என்று அஞ்சியவன், தன் ஆசையை எல்லாம் தூரத் தூக்கியெறிந்து விட்டு, ஒரு விநாடி… மூச்சு விட்டுக் கொண்டே நகர, அந்தச் சின்ன ஒலியில் சட்டெனத் துயில் கலைந்தாள் மென்னிலா.
மனைவி துயில் கலைந்தது அறியாத அந்த முரட்டுக் குழந்தையோ.. அவள் துயில் கலையாத வண்ணம்.. மெல்ல தன் வாட்ரோப்பை நாடிப் போனவனாக..
அதனைத் திறந்து தனக்கான இரவு உடைகளை எடுத்துக் கொண்ட வண்ணம், தான் அணிந்திருந்த வெள்ளை சட்டையைக் களைந்து..
வெற்றுமேனியுடன்.. அவளுக்கு புறமுதுகிட்டு நின்றிருந்த நேரம் தான்.. அவனுமே எதிர்பார்த்திராத ஒரு சம்பவம் நடந்தேறியது.
அவன் எஞ்ஞான்றும் விரும்பும் மெல்லிய கரங்கள்..அவனைப் பின்னிருந்து அணைத்து, அவன் வலிய வயிற்றில் ஊர, அவளது பருத்த தனங்கள்.. அவனது திண்ணிய முதுகோடு அழுந்தப் பதிய.. அவனைப் பின்னிருந்து கட்டிக் கொண்டாள் மென்னிலா.
இத்தனை நாள் பிரிவின் தாக்கம் அவளை வாட்டியெடுக்க, இதயம் தாங்க மாட்டாது வெடித்து அழுதவளின் கண்ணீர்.. அவளது திண்ணிய முதுகை நனைக்கவே செய்தது.
அவனை இன்னும் இன்னும் காதலோடு இறுக்கி அணைத்தவள், “மாமாஹ்.. என்னய மன்னிச்சிடுங்க.. என்னையறியாமலேயே பழிவெறியில இப்படி பண்ணிட்டே.. ன்..”என்றவளின் அழுகுரல் தலைவனை ஏதோ செய்தது.
அவன் மஞ்சத்தில்.. ‘குழந்தையுடன் அவள்’ என்பதே அன்பைப் பெருக்குவதாக இருக்க, அவளது எதிர்பாராத கட்டியணைப்பு, அவளது அழுகை மொழிகள் என எல்லாமுமே.. அவனை ஒரு பித்துப் பிடித்த நிலைக்குத் தள்ள..
தன்னைத் தானே அடக்கிக் கொண்டவன்.. அவளை மெல்ல விலக்கியவனாக, அறையில் இருந்து வெளியேறவே முனைந்தான்.
அவனது விலக்கல் உள்ளே பெரும் வலியைக் கொடுக்க, அதற்கு விடாமல் மீண்டும் அவனைப் பின்னிருந்து அணைத்தவள்,
இயலாமை நிறைந்த குரலில், “ஏன்.. என்னை அவொய்ட் பண்ணுறீங்க? என் மேல கோபம் இருக்கலாம்.. ஆ.. ஆனா.. குழந்தை? குழந்தை மேலஹ் என்னஹ்… கோபம்? குழந்தை முகத்தைக் கூட பார்க்காதளவுக்கு….”என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டே போனவளை.. இடை நிறுத்தும் முகமாகக் கேட்டது அவன் குரல்.
உடல் போலவே குரலும் இறுக, “இனியும் நடிக்கணும்னு அவசியமில்ல நிலாஆஆ.. உனக்கு மணவிடுதலை வேணும்னாலும் வாங்கித் தர்றேன்.. உன்னய விட்டுப் பிரியணும்னாலும்.. போ.. போறேன்.. எதுன்னாலும் தாராளமா கேக்கலாம்.. எ.. எனக்கு.. குழந்தை எதிர்காலம் முக்கியம்.. உன் சந்தோஷம் முக்கியம்.”என்று சொல்ல, அவனது சொற்களில் இதயத்தில் பாறாங்கல்லை அழுத்தினாற் போன்று வலித்தது அவளுக்கு.
இவன் இயம்பிய அதே மொழிகள்.. பழிவெறியில் அவள் ஊறிப் போயிருக்கும் காலத்தில் சொல்லியிருந்தால் இதமாக இருந்திருக்கும்!!
ஆனால் இப்போது அவன் மீது காதல் வெறியில் ஊறிப் போயிருக்கும் நேரத்தில் சொன்னால் எப்படி இதமாக இருக்கும்? எப்படி இனிக்கும்?
இ.. இதையும் நடிப்பு என்றா எண்ணுகிறான் அவளது தலைவன்??
அதிலும் அவனது ‘நிலா’ என்ற அந்நியத்தனமான அழைப்பில் இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் மனம் காயப்பட்டுப் போக,
நிராதரவான தொனியில், அவனது புறமுதுகைப் பார்த்தவளாக, “மாமா.. இந்த ஆண்டாளைப் பிரிஞ்சு உங்களால இருந்துட முடியுமா?? ..” என்று கேட்டாள் இவள்.
அவள் கேள்வியில் உடல் இறுகி விறைக்க, உறுதியான குரலில், “ம்முடியும்” என்றான் அவன்.
அவன் இதுவரை.. அவளது கண்கள் பார்த்து உரையாடாததை அவதானித்தவள், அவன் முன்னாடி வந்து நிற்க,
அப்போதும் அவன் அவள் முகத்தைப் பாராமல் வேறெங்கோ பார்த்தபடி நிற்க, அதுவும் வேறு வலியைக் கொடுத்தது அவளுக்கு.
அதற்கு மேலும் அமைதியாக வேடிக்கைப் பார்க்கடி மனமற்று, உரிமையோடு அவனது நாடியைப் பற்றி..
வலுக்கட்டாயமாக தன்னை நோக்கித் திருப்பி, அவன் விழிகளை.. தன் விழிகளைப் பார்க்க செய்தவளாக, “எங்கே என் கண்ண பார்த்து சொல்லுங்க? ..”என்று கேட்க, எதேர்ச்சையாகத் திரும்பியவன் கண்கள் அவளோடு இரண்டறக் கலந்து போனது.
அந்தக் கண்கள்.. அந்த குறுந்தீவு ஆண்டாளின் கண்கள்!!

அவளுக்காக எதையும் செய்யத் துணிந்து.. இராத்திரியில் அவன் வீடேறி வந்த.. பழைய மென்னிலாவின் காதல் சிந்தும் அதே கண்கள்!!
அவனது வார்த்தைகள் உணர்த்தாததை அவள் கண்கள் உணர்த்திக் கொண்டிருந்தது.
இது பழிவெறி நாடகம் அல்ல!! அவள் சொல்வது.. அவன் மீது கொண்டிருப்பது உண்மைக் காதல் என்பதுவும் புரிந்தது.
அவளது பொல்லாத கண்களில் அவனுக்கான காதல் பூத்துக் குலுங்குவதைக் கண்டவன், “ஆண்டாளூஊஊஊஹ்..”என்று உணர்ச்சி ததும்ப சொன்னவன், அவளை அடுத்த நிமிடம்.. காற்றும் புக முடியாதளவுக்கு, அவ்வளவு இறுக்கமாகக் கட்டியணைத்துக் கொண்டான் அந்த முரட்டுப் பரிதி.
அவளாடிய போலிக்காதல் நாடகத்தை ஐயந் துணிபற அடையாளம் கண்டு கொள்ள முடிந்தவனுக்கு, தற்போது மனைவி அவன் பால் கொண்டிருக்கும் உண்மைக் காதலையா கண்டுபிடிப்பது கடினமாகப் போகும்??
அவனது நெஞ்சாங்கூட்டுக்குள், இன்னும் இன்னும் ஆழப் புதைந்த வண்ணமே, “மாமாஹ்.. எப்போவும்.. எனக்கு நீங்க வேணும் மாமாஹ்..”என்று அவள் சொல்ல, அவளது காதல் வசனம் வேறு.. அவனது நெஞ்சை நெகிழ்த்தலானது.
அவளைத் தன்னிலிருந்தும் விலக்கி, இரு கன்னங்களையும் மையலுடன் ஏந்தி, கன்னம், நெற்றி மூக்கு, கண்கள், நாடி என ஓர் இடம் விடாமல் முத்தம் வைத்தவன்,
உணர்ச்சிகள் ததும்ப.. அவள் விழிகளைப் பார்த்து தவிப்புடன், “காதல் தானடிஹ் என் மீதுனக்குஹ்?”என்று கேட்க,
காதல் கண்களில் கண்ணீர்.. கனிந்து வழிய, ஹஸ்கி குரலில், “ம்.. நிஜமாகவே அதுலென்ன சந்தேகம்..?”என்று கேட்க, அவள் தந்த நிறைவான பதிலில், மீண்டும் இருவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் ஆரத் தழுவிக் கொண்டேயிருந்தனர்.
அவள் தந்த உண்மை பதிலில்.. இப்போதே காலன் வந்து ‘ஆயுள் முடிந்தது’ என்று கூறியிருந்தாலும் கூட, சந்தோஷமாக இறந்திருப்பான் பரிதி!!
இத்தனை நாட்களாக அவன் அவளோடு வாழ்ந்த வாழ்க்கையில்.. அவன் பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட மஞ்சம் தராத சுகத்தை.. அவளது ஒற்றைப் பதில் தருவது போல இருக்க.. அவளது இதழ்களை.. காதல் ஆவேசம் பொங்க.. தாவிக் கௌவிக் கொண்டான் அவன்!!
வெகுநாள் கழித்து.. வரண்டிருந்த நாவில்.. குளிர் மழை போல.. கணவனின் முத்த மழை!!
அவனது கூரிய நாவு.. பற்கள் கடந்து.. அவளது நாவோடு வாள் சண்டை புரிய.. கணவனின் இதழ்கள் காட்டிய மாயாஜாலத்தில் சொக்கி நின்றாள் அவள்.
சில பல நொடிகளாக.. சின்னச் சின்ன இடைவெளிகள் விட்டு விட்டு.. இதழ்களில் சுரந்த தேனை சொட்டு விடாமல் அந்தக் காதல் ஜீவிகள் அருந்த.. நீண்டு கொண்டே போனது முத்தம்!!
அந்த கணம், தந்தை தன்னை பாராமல் தாயைக் கவனிப்பதை பொறாமை கொண்ட.. அந்தப் பிஞ்சுக் குழந்தையும் அழ,
இருவரும் ஒருவரிலிருந்து ஒருவர் பதறியடித்துக் கொண்டு விலகியவாறு,
ஒருவர் முகத்தை ஒருவர் பார்த்து… புன்னகைத்த வண்ணம் நடப்புக்குத் திரும்பலாயினர்.
இயல்பான தாய்ப்பாசத்தில், குழந்தையை நோக்கி ஓடிச் சென்றவள் அதை ஆசுவாசப்படுத்தியவளாக,
குழந்தையை ஆசையுடன் வேடிக்கைப் பார்க்கும் கணவனுக்கு கொடுக்க, முதன் முதலாக குழந்தையை ஏந்தியவனின் கண்கள்.. தந்தையன்பில் பனித்திருந்தது.
அவன் சாயலில் இருந்த குழந்தையைக் காண இன்னும் இளகியது உள்ளம்.
எப்போதும் முரட்டுத்தனத்தை உபயோகிக்கும் பரிதி, தன் மூச்சுக்காற்று பட்டால் கூட வலிக்கும் என்று கருதி, மூச்சடக்கிக் குழந்தைக்கு முத்தமிட,
தாயைக் கட்டியணைத்ததால்.. தாய் வாசத்தைத் தந்தையிடமும் உணர்ந்த குழந்தையும் தன் இறுக மூடிய நயனங்கள் திறந்து.. தந்தையை பளிச் பளிச்சென்று வெட்டிய கண்களுடன் பார்க்கலானது.
குழந்தையின் அந்த சின்னப் பார்வையில் நெஞ்சமெல்லாம் உருக நின்றவன், “ குழந்த.. நம்ம குழந்த..”என்று உணர்ச்சி வசப்பட, குழந்தையின் மேனியை ஆவலுடன் ஆராய்ந்தவனாக,
குழந்தையைப் பார்த்தவன் கண்ணீருடன், “எனக்கு ஆண்குழந்தை கிடைச்சிருக்குஹ் ஆண்டாளூஊஊ.. நமக்கு ஆண்குழந்த கிடைச்சிருக்குஹ்..”என்று சொல்லி அவன் பெருமைப்பட, விழிகள் மலர்த்தினாள் அவள்.
“என்ன குழந்தைன்னு கூட உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா மாமா?”- அந்த ஏகாந்தமான இரவு வேளையில், அதிர்ச்சிக்கு உள்ளானவளாகக் கேட்டாள் பரிதியின் ஆண்டாள்.
அதற்கு அவன் சொன்ன பதில்.. அவள் காதலை இன்னும் கூட்டுவதாகவே இருந்தது.
“ம்ஹூம்..உன் மனசு மாறினது தெரியாத நான்.. குழந்தய பார்த்தாலோ.. குழந்தய பத்திக் கேட்டாலோ.. எங்கே.. என் மனசு மாறி.. உன் ஆசைக்கு மதிப்புக் குடுத்து மண விடுதலை தர்றேன்னு சொல்ல நினைச்ச என் எண்ணம் மாறிடும்னு.. குழந்தய பத்திக் கேட்கவேயில்லை ஆண்டாளு..” என்று சொல்ல, கணவனையே காதல் கமழப் பார்த்திருந்தாள் அவள்.
அப்படி அவன்… குழந்தை சம்பந்தமான விஷயங்களை வாசு மாமாவிடமிருந்து கேட்க விளையாமல், அப்படி அவராகவே சொல்லும் நேரம் கேட்கப் பிடிக்காமல் அங்கிருந்து நகர்ந்ததாலோ என்னவோ,
மென்னிலாவாகவே வாய் விட்டு சொல்லும் வரை… மருத்துவமனையில் பச்சை உடம்புடன் அவனைத் தேடி வந்த கதையை அறியாமல் போனான் அவன்.
அவன் மேல் நொடிக்கு நொடி காதல் அதிகமாகிக் கொண்டே போக, அவனது இரு முரட்டுக் கன்னம் ஏந்தியவள், மென்மையாக அவனது பரந்த நெற்றியில் குட்டிக் குட்டி முத்தம் வைத்துக் கொண்டே போனாள் அவள்.
குழந்தையோ தாய் தனக்கு முத்தம் தருவாள் என்று எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தது போலும்.
தன் கண்களை விசுக் விசுக்கென்று திறந்து பார்த்துக் கொண்டே இருக்க..
கையிலே பஞ்சுக்குவியலாக குழந்தை… நெற்றியில் காதலோடு முத்தமிடும்.. அவனது நேசம் உணர்ந்த மனைவி.. அன்பான காதல்.. இவை தவிர வேறு என்ன வேண்டும் என்று தோன்ற.. அன்று அனைத்துமே மன நிறைவைக் கொடுக்கலானது அவனுக்கு.

இந்த நான்கு வருடங்களில்… காலமும், கர்மாவும் சிலருக்குத் தகுந்த பாடம் புகட்டத் தவறவேயில்லை!!
அதில் முக்கியமானவர்கள் ராஜமாணிக்கமும், சரவணனும் என்றால்.. இன்னொரு பக்கம்.. பரிதியின் மனதில் பழிவெறியை ஊட்டி வளர்த்த.. சகுனியான பார்வதியம்மாளும் தான்.
முரட்டுக் கிழவன் ராஜமாணிக்கமும், ‘பொம்பளைப் பொறுக்கி’ சரவணனும், கோயில் பணத்தில் கையாடல் பண்ண குற்றத்துக்காகவும்,
அயலூர்க்காரர் தங்கவேலு ஐயாவின் பேத்தியையும், மஞ்சுவையும் கற்பளித்த குற்றத்துக்காகவும்,

காலம்.. ஒரு போதும் ஒரே நேர்கோட்டில் பயணிக்கப் போவதில்லை.
அது சுழலும் கடிகார முள்ளைப் போல. உச்சத்தைத் தொட்ட முள்.. ஒரு தரம் கீழே வந்து தான் ஆக வேண்டும்!!

பரிதியின் சோற்றுக்கு, மென்னிலா விஷம் வைத்ததைக் கேள்விப்பட்டு, மென்னிலாவுக்கு குழந்தையும் பிறந்திருப்பது கேள்விப்பட்டு, மென்னிலாவையும் அவள் குழந்தையையும் அன்று போலவே இன்றும்.. அநாதரவாக தெருவில் இழுத்து வந்து விட்டு, மானபங்கப்படுத்தி விட நாடி,
தன் காரில் ஓடி வந்த பார்வதி அம்மாளுக்கு விதியே தண்டனை கொடுக்க நாடியது போலும்.
மென்னிலா வேண்டுமானால் ராஜமாணிக்கத்தின் சொந்தப் பேத்தியாக இல்லாமல் இருக்கலாம்.
ஆனால் ராஜமாணிக்கத்தின் குடும்பத்தோடு மென்னிலாவுக்கு ஒருவகையில் சம்பந்தம் இருப்பதே.. அவள் மீது வெறுப்புணர்வு தோன்ற காரணமாக இருந்தது பார்வதிக் கிழவிக்கு.
மென்னிலாவை மானபங்கப்படுத்தி விடும் கேவலமான எண்ணத்தில் ஓடி வந்தவரின்.. கை, கால்கள் சீராக வேலை செய்தது என்னமோ.. அன்று மட்டும் தான் போலும்.
மன்னாரிலிருந்து கொழும்புக்கு.. அரிசி மூட்டைகளை ஏற்றிச் செல்லும் லாறியில்.. பார்வதியம்மாள் பயணித்த.. கார் வண்டி எக்குத்தப்பாக மோதிக்கொண்டதில்,
காரின் உதிரிப் பாகங்கள்.. உதிரி உதிரியாகக் கிடக்க.. அதற்குள் காரின் சாரதியோ சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே பரிதாபமாக உயிரைத் துறக்க,

ஆனால் உண்மையில்.. அவர் அன்றைய விபத்தோடு போய் சேர்ந்திருந்தால்.. இன்று அவர் அணுஅணுவாகப் பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கும் வலி தெரிந்திருக்காது.
ஆனால் கடவுளோ.. அன்று அவருக்கு வேறு திட்டங்கள் வைத்திருந்தான் போலும்!!
அன்று அந்தக் கார் விபத்தில் அடிபட்டதில்.. முதுகந்தண்டு வடத்திலிருந்து மூளைக்குச் செல்லும் என்புகளிலும், நரம்புகளிலும் பலத்த சேதாரம் ஏற்பட்டு விட..
தலைக்கு கீழே.. முழுதும் செயலற்றதாகவும், உணர்வு மரத்துப் போனதாகவும் ஆகிப் போனது அந்தக் குரூரிக்கு.
அந்தக் கொடூர பார்வதியம்மாளுக்கு மிஞ்சி மிஞ்சிப் போனால் பார்க்க முடியும். கேட்க முடியும்.
விபத்தில் வாயும் ஒரு பக்கம் பிதுங்கியது போல சென்றதில்.. ஓரளவுக்கு தெளிவற்ற குரலில் பேசவும் முடியும்!!
அது போக எதையும் செய்வதற்கு இன்னொருவரின் உதவி கட்டாயம் பார்வதிக் கிழவிக்கு தேவைப்பட்டுக் கொண்டேயிருந்தது.
அதிலும் கடவுள் கொடுத்த உச்சபட்ச தண்டனை.. யாரை பழிவாங்க வேண்டும் என்று கங்கணம் கட்டிக் கொண்டு திரிந்தாளோ..
அதே மென்னிலாவின் உதவியுடன்.. இறுதிக் காலத்தில்.. அவளை அண்டியே அவரைப் பிழைக்கச் செய்தது.
வழமைப் போல இன்றும்.. அந்த வீல் சேரில் அமர்ந்திருந்த பார்வதியம்மாளுக்கு.. இலகுவில் செரிக்கக் கூடிய நீராகாரத்தை கரண்டியால் பருக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தாள் மென்னிலா.
பிதுங்கிய வாயில் இருந்து வழிந்த நீராகாரம்.. பார்வதிக் கிழவி அணிந்திருந்த ஏப்ரனில் விழ, டிஷூவினால் துடைத்துக் கொண்டே, உணவினைப் பருக்கிய மென்னிலாவின் முகத்தில்,
பார்வதிக்கான குரோதம் ஒரு துளி கூட இல்லை.
‘அவளுக்கு செய்த கொடுமைக்கு.. கடவுளே தண்டனை கொடுத்து விட்டானே’ என்று சந்தோஷப்படவும் அவளால் முடியவில்லை.
அத்தகைய மென்மையான இதயத்தை.. பரிதியின் உன்னதமான காதல் அவளுக்குப் பரிசளித்திருக்க,
கடித்த எறும்பை நசுக்கக் கூட.. தற்போதெல்லாம் மனம் வராது நிற்கிறாள் அழகிய மங்கை!!
சாளரம் தாண்டி தெரிந்த.. ஒரு பகுதி தோட்டத்தில்.. பரிதியும்..
அவன் மஞ்சத்தில்.. அவள் மீது காட்டிய தீராத அன்பின் விளைவால் வந்துதித்த மூன்று முத்துக்களும், ‘கிட்டிப்புள்ளு’ என்னும் ஒருவகை கிராமிய விளையாட்டை விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருந்ததை..
ஆசை மல்கப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டே.. உணவினை உள்வாங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார் பார்வதிக் கிழவி.
பார்வதியின் முகம் போன போக்கைப் பார்த்து.. அவர் மனக்குமுறல்களை அறிந்து கொண்ட மென்னிலா மென்மையாக,
“பெரியவன் சந்திரன்.. அப்படியே அப்பா மாதிரி.. தம்பிங்க ரெண்டு பேரும் பாவம்..தன்னை விட இரண்டு வயசு சின்னப் பசங்க’ன்ற எண்ணமே இல்லாமல்.. கொஞ்சம் விட்டுக் கொடுத்து போவோம்னு இருக்கா? அதே முரட்டுப் பிடிவாதம்..” என்று தோட்டத்தில்,
தந்தைக்கு நிகரான வேகத்தில்.. கிட்டிப்புள்ளை உயரத்தில் தூக்கித் தூக்கி அடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த மூத்த மகனான ‘சந்திர வேல் வீரனை’க் காட்டிச் சொன்னாள் அவள்.
மென்னிலாவின் முழுநேரக் கவனிப்பில் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக உடல் மாறி வந்திருக்கும் பார்வதியும்.. தன் பிதுங்கிய வாய் திறந்து… மெல்லமாக புன்னகைக்க,
அதைப் பார்த்த மென்னிலாவுக்கு மனதுக்கு இதமாக இருந்தது.
ஆம்.. இந்த நான்கு வருடத்தில்.. கணவன்.. அவள் மீது காட்டிய அளவு கடந்த அன்பில் கிடைத்த இரத்தினங்கள் மொத்தம் மூன்று!!

எல்லாமே அவனது முரட்டுக் கணவன் வைத்த பெயர்கள்!!
கொஞ்சம் மாடர்னாகவே வளர்ந்த பெண்ணான மென்னிலாவுக்கோ, ‘சந்தோஷ்.. ஹரீஷ்.. வைபவ்” என்று மாடர்ன் பெயர்களை வைப்பதில் பிரியம் இருந்தாலும்.. கணவனின் அன்பில் சொக்கிப் போய் இருப்பவள்,
கணவனின் இஷ்டத்துக்கே பெயர் வைப்பதை விட்டு விட்டாள் அவள்.
அந்நேரம் உணவு ஊட்டும் படலம் முற்றாக முடிந்ததும், அவரது வாயைத் துடைத்து விட்டு.. நீரையும் பருக்கி விட்டு… அவள் அவரது அறையை விட்டும் வெளியேறப் போன கணம்,
அவளைப் பார்த்து.. பிதுங்கிய வாயுடன் வாய் திறந்த பார்வதியம்மாள், கண்களெல்லாம் குளமாக, “என்ன.. ய்ய.. மன்னிச்சிர்… ம்மாஆ” என்று உணர்ந்து சொல்ல, அவளிடம் மெலிதான சின்ன குறுநகையைத் தவிர.. பதிலே இல்லை.
கருணை கசியும் விழிகளுடன் ஏப்ரனைக் கழற்றியவள், பார்வதியின் தலையை ஆதுரத்துடன் வருடிக் கொடுத்துக் கொண்டே புன்னகைத்தாள்.
அந்த கணம் வாசு மாமாவும்.. அறைக்குள் வர.. பழிவெறியில்.. தன் கணவனின் உண்மை அன்பு.. அவனது மூடக்கண்களை மறைத்திருந்த பெண்ணுக்கு,

இன்று அதே பெண்மணி கை, கால் எல்லாம் முடங்கிப் போய் கிடக்க, அவளை குழந்தை போல கவனித்துக் கொள்ளும் மென்னிலாவிடம்.. உதவி பெறுவதே… பெரிய தண்டனை அல்லவா?
அதிலும் மென்னிலா.. உதவுவதும் அவளது அழகிய பெருந்தன்மை அல்லவா?
பார்வதியம்மாளைத் தூக்கி மஞ்சத்தில் படுக்க வைக்க உதவிகள் புரியும் மென்னிலாவுக்கு தானாகவே உதவ முன்வந்த வாசு மாமாவும் இரு கைப்பிடித்து.. பார்வதியம்மாளை மஞ்சத்தில் படுக்க வைத்து விட்டே வெளியே வர,
மென்னிலாவின் செயலில் நெஞ்சமெல்லாம் நிறைந்து போயிருந்தது அவருக்கு.
தனக்கென்று குழந்தை, குடும்பம் என்று இல்லாதவருக்கு, பரிதியே சகலமும் என்றாகிப் போனது அவருக்கு.
அதிலும் மென்னிலாவை தன் மகள் போல கவனித்துக் கொள்பவர், குழந்தைகளை தன் சொந்த மகள் வயிற்றுக் குழந்தைகள் போலவும் பரிவும் காட்டினார்.
மென்னிலாவின் அழகான இதயம் கண்டு நெகிழ்ந்திருந்த வாசு மாமாவோ, மகளின் சின்னச் சின்ன ஆசைகளையும் ஒரு தகப்பனாக இருந்து நிறைவேற்றுவதில் இதம் கண்டார்.
அன்றும் அப்படித்தான்.. அவளுக்குப் பிடித்தமான சிப்பியுணவு வகையான ‘மட்டி’யை வாங்கி வந்திருந்தவர், அவளிடம், “யம்மாடி.. உனக்கு மட்டி பிடிக்குமுன்னு கொண்டு வந்திருக்கேன்.. இன்னைக்கு நம்ம மஞ்சு பொண்ணுக்கிட்ட அழகா சமைக்க சொல்லிரு என்ன?”என்று உரைக்க, தந்தை போல இருந்து கவனிக்கும் அவர் அன்பில் கனிந்தது அவள் உள்ளம்.
ஆம். வாசு மாமா மட்டியை சமைக்க சொல்லியிருந்தது.. சரவணனால் சீரழிகப்பட்டு.. மனநிலை பாதிக்கப்பட்ட அதே மஞ்சுப் பெண்ணே தான்.
ஓயாத மருத்துவ பலனின் விளைவில்.. இந்த நான்கு வருடங்களில் நன்றாகவே கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக மனநோயில் இருந்து சீராகி வந்திருக்கும் மஞ்சுவுக்கு…
மென்னிலா தன் வீட்டிலேயே அடைக்கலம் கொடுத்திருக்க.. கணவனையும், குழந்தைகளையும் பார்த்துக் கொண்டே, வீட்டு வேலைகளைக் கவனிக்கும் பொறுப்பு சற்றே ஓய்ந்திருந்தது அவளுக்கு.
அவளது முழுநேர வேலையாக அன்புக் கணவனையும், ஆசைக் குழந்தைகளையும் பார்ப்பதாக மாறிவிட, அழகிய இல்லறத்தில்.. இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் அழகு கூடிப் போயிருந்தது அதி ஆனந்தம் சேர்ப்பதாகவே இருந்தது.

சமையலறைக்குச் செல்லும் முன்னம் தோட்டத்தில் தமை மறந்து விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் கணவனையும், குழந்தைகளையும் கண் பார்வையால் தழுவி விட்டுச் செல்ல நாடி..
தோட்டத்துப் பக்கம் வந்தவள், நான்கு வருடங்கள் கழிந்த பின்னரும் கூட..
அதே அழகு மாறாமல் இருக்கும் தன்னவனின் அழகில்.. மனதோடு, ‘இவன் என்னவன்’ என்ற எண்ணம் பிறக்க, சின்ன கர்வம் வந்து போனது அவளுக்கு.

முறுக்கேறிய அவனுடைய தோள்புஜங்களும், கைச்சந்துகளும், உடலோடு ஒட்டித் தெரிந்த திண்ணிய வயிறும்.. இரவில் அவள் சாய்ந்து துயிலும் அவனது.. பரந்த மார்பும்,
வேஷ்டியை சிங்களவர் பாணியில் தோட்டி போல கட்டியிருப்பதன் விளைவாக துணியோடு ஒட்டித் தெரியும் அவனது வலிமையான தொடையும், பாதங்களும் என அந்த ஆஜானுபாகுவான முரடனின் அழகை இன்னும் கூட்டிக்காட்ட, சொக்கிப் போய்த்தான் நின்றாள் அவள்.
கிட்டிப்புள்ளு என்பது.. மண்ணில் தோண்டப்பட்ட சின்னக் குழியில்.. சின்ன கம்பு வைக்கப்பட்டு, அதனை ஒரு மட்டையால் தூக்கியடித்து விளையாடும்.. ஒருவகை கிராமிய விளையாட்டு.
தூக்கியடிக்கப்படும் கம்பு..நேராகப் போய் எதிராளியின் கைகளில் நின்றாலோ, அல்லது.. தூர விழுந்த கம்பை.. திரும்ப எடுத்து வந்து வைக்க முன்னம் எதிராளியிடம் பிடிபட்டு, அவர் பிடியிலிருந்து வெளிவர முடியாமல் போனாலோ.. அது தோற்றதாகக் கொள்ளப்படும் இன்பமான கிராமிய விளையாட்டு!!
அந்த விளையாட்டை கணவனோடு இணைந்து.. தன் அழகான பிருட்டங்கள்.. அணிந்திருந்த உடைக்கும் மேலாக குலுங்கி ஆட,
கொழுகொழுவென குண்டுக் கன்னங்களுடன்.. தன் மன்னவனோடு சேர்ந்து ஆடும்.. சின்னக் கண்ணன்களைக் காணுகையில்… இன்னும் இன்னும் அன்பு பூத்தது அவளுக்கு.
அதிலும் அவள் கணவன் என்ன தான் குழந்தைகளின் வேகத்துக்கு நிகராக மெல்லமாக விளையாடினாலும் கூட.. தன் மூத்த குழந்தை… பெரியவன் ‘சந்திரவேல் வீரன்’.. தன் தந்தையால் அவுட்டாக்கப்பட்டதை தாங்க முடியாதவள்,
இதுவரை பார்வையாளராக இருந்தவள்… நெஞ்சு தாங்க மாட்டாது குரல் கொடுக்க நாடியவளாக,
சட்டென தன் குரலை உயர்த்தி, “ம்ஹூஹூம்.. இது போங்காட்டம்.. அவங்க சின்ன பசங்க.. நீங்க கொஞ்சம் உங்க ஸ்பீடை குறைச்சு ஆடணும்.. இது சரியில்லை .. அவங்க வயசென்ன? உங்க வயசென்ன மாமா?”என்று வேண்டுமென்று போலிக் கோபம் இழையோட அவள் கத்தத் தொடங்க,
சட்டென்று சத்தம் வந்த திசையை நோக்கித் திரும்பியவன்.. அப்போது தான் மனைவி அங்கே நின்றிருப்பதையே கண்டு கொண்டான்.
மூன்று ஆண்குழந்தைகள் பெற்ற பின்பும்.. இன்னும் கும்மென்று மாறிப் போயிருக்கும் மனைவியை ஆசைக் கண்களுடன்.. இமைக்கவேயாமல் பார்த்திருந்தான் அவன்.
கணவன் தன்னை.. தன் அந்தரங்கப் பிரதேசத்தில் இமைக்காமல் பார்த்து வைத்த பார்வையில், உள்ளே அடிவயிற்றில் ஆயிரம் பட்டாம்பூச்சிகள் அட் அ டைமில் பறந்தது போன்ற உணர்வில்.. அப்படியே நின்றாள் அவள்.
அவனோ இடுப்பில் இரு கை வைத்தவனாக இறுமாப்போடு நின்று, “சரி.. நான் ஆடுறது போங்காட்டம்னா.. சப்போர்ட்டுக்கு நீ வந்து ஆடு..”என்று சவால் விடும் தொனியில் அழைக்க,
அவனுக்கும் கணவனோடு விளையாட எண்ணம் முகிழ்த்தது போலும்!!
“இதோ வர்றேன்” என்றவள், சேலைத்தலைப்பை சுற்றி எடுத்து சொருகி.. கொசுவத்தையும் தூக்கிச் சொருகியவளாக முன்னேற.. அவனுக்கோ அப்படித் தூக்கிய போது தெரிந்த அவளது வெண்ணிற இடுப்பிலும், அவளது ஆடுதசைக் கால்களிலும் சற்றே சொக்கித் தான் நின்றான் அவன்.
அவளும் விளையாடும் இடத்துக்கு வந்து.. கிட்டிப்புள்ளினைத் தூக்கியடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் குழந்தைக்கான “சப்ஸ்டிடியூட்”டாக மாறி,
சற்றே குனிந்து… சின்னக் கிடங்கில் இருந்த கம்பை.. மட்டையால் தூக்கி அடித்து விட்டு ஓடத் தொடங்க, மனைவி தன் முன்னெழில்கள் ஆட.. ஓடுவதைக் காணுவதே கிளர்ச்சி மூட்டுவதாக இருந்தது அவனுக்கு.
அந்த கிளர்ச்சியில்.. வேண்டுமென்றே.. தன்னை நோக்கி வந்த கம்பைப் பிடிக்காமல் விட்டவன்,.. அவள் அந்தக் கம்பை மீண்டும் எடுத்து விட்டு ஓடும் வரை காத்திருந்து,
அவளும் கம்பை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு கிடங்கு இருந்த இடத்துக்கு விரைய எத்தனிக்க,
இது தான் சந்தர்ப்பம் என்று காத்திருந்த திருட்டுப் பூனையும், அவளைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து சென்று..
விளையாடும் சாக்கில்.. அவளது வெற்றி.. இடையூடு கையிட்டுத் தன்னோடு கட்டியணைத்துக் கொள்ள,
திடும்மென்று நிகழ்ந்த கணவனின் அதிரடியில் பரிதவித்துப் போனாள் மென்னிலா.
அதிலும் இடையை அழுத்திப் பிடித்த அவனது முரட்டுக் கரங்கள் அவளது வெற்றிடையை.. குழந்தைகள் அறியாத வண்ணம் சேலைகளின் மறைப்பில் இறுக்கிப் பிடிக்க,
கீழிதழ்கள் கடித்து.. கணவனின் கையோடு தன் கைகள் பதித்து சொக்கிப் போய் நின்று விட்டாள் மென்னிலா.
மனைவியிடம் இருந்து அந்த கணம் வெளிப்பட்ட மோனமான முணகல்.. அவனை இன்னும் உன்மத்தம் கொள்ளச் செய்ய, , அருகே குழந்தைகள் இருப்பதால் அதிகம் .. சில்மிஷம் செய்ய நாடவேயில்லை அவன்.
இருப்பினும் அவளைக் கட்டியணைத்துக் கொண்டே இருந்த பொழுதுகள் அவனுக்குப் பிடித்திருந்தது.
கணவன் தன் அருகாமையில் சொக்கி நிற்பதைக் கண்ட பெண்ணவள்,
சட்டென உணர்ச்சி தெளிந்தவளாக நின்றவள் முகம் திருப்பி எம்பி அவன் கன்னத்தில் முத்தமிட, அந்த முத்த சுகத்தில் மொத்தமும் உருக நின்றவனின் பிடியிலிருந்து விலகி வந்தவள்,
மீண்டும் இருந்த இடத்திலேயே கம்பினை வைத்து விட்டு, “ஹேய்.. ஜெயிச்சுட்டேன்.. ஜெயிச்சுட்டேன்”என்று குழந்தைகளை கட்டிக் கொண்டு சிரிக்கும் மனைவியையே காதலுடன் பார்த்திருந்தான் பரிதிவேல்.
அவள் முகத்தில் சந்தோஷத்தைக் காண வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக இறக்கத் துணிந்தவனுக்கு, இந்த விட்டுக்கொடுப்பு எல்லாம் பெரிதா என்ன?
அவள் அருகில் இருப்பதே யானை பலத்தைக் கொடுக்க, சிரித்துக் கொண்டே மனைவியின் சந்தோஷத்தில் சேர்ந்து கொண்டான் அவன்.
