“தம்பி.. நீ ஒருத்தன் எனக்கு போதும்ய்யா.. நீதான் என்னை கண்ணுக்குள்ள வச்சு பார்த்துக்குறியே” என்று கிருஷ்ணாவின் கையை பிடித்து முத்தம் வைத்தார்.
குருமூர்த்தியை உட்கார வைத்து அவருக்கு ஜுஸ் கொடுத்தான்.. குடித்து விட்டு அவர் படுக்கப் போக ஐய்யா மாத்திரை சாப்பிட்டு படுங்க.. என்று மாத்திரையை கொடுத்து படுக்க வைத்தான்.. மணி, கிருஷ்ணாவிற்கு சாப்பாடு வாங்கி வந்து கொடுத்து சாப்பிட சொல்ல “மணி அண்ணா நீங்களும் உட்காருங்க சாப்பிடலாம்”
என்று பார்சலை பிரித்து வைத்தான்..
“தம்பி நீங்க முதல சாப்பிடுங்க” என மணி சங்கடமாக சொல்ல.
“நீங்க சாப்டலைனா நானும் சாப்பிடமாட்டேன்” என்று பார்சலை மூடி வைக்க..
“அச்சோ தம்பி.. இருங்க உங்களுக்கு முதல பரிமாறிட்டு நான் சாப்பிடுறேன்” என்று கிருஷ்ணாவிற்கு தான் வாங்கி வந்த இட்லியை தட்டில் எடுத்து போட்டு கொடுத்து விட்டு மணியும் சாப்பிட்டார்.
குருமூர்த்தி வீட்டில் வேலை செய்யும் ஆட்களிடம் பாரபட்சம் பார்க்க மாட்டார்.. அதேபோல் கிருஷ்ணாவும் பழகிக்கொண்டான்.
சாப்பிட்டு முடித்து குருமூர்த்தியிடம் பேசி கொண்டேயிருக்க அவர் உறங்கி விட்டார்.. தந்தையை நன்றாக தலையணையில் படுக்க வைத்துவிட்டு பால்கனி பக்கம் போய் நின்று கொண்டான்.. அவன் ஞாபகம் முழுவதும் சிறுவயதை நோக்கி பயணித்தது.. அவன் விழிகளில் கடகடவென கண்ணீர் வழிந்தோட துடைக்கும் எண்ணம் கூட இல்லாமல் அப்படியே நிலவை பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்..
குருமூர்த்தி இருமும் சத்தம் கேட்டு உடனே அவர்பக்கம் ஓட.. அவர் கண்விழித்துப் பார்த்து “தம்பி இன்னும் நீ தூங்கலையா.. பழச எண்ணி பார்த்து வருத்தப்படாத உனக்கு நான் இருக்கேன்.. எனக்கு நீ இருக்க.. இப்பதான் நமக்கு புது சொந்தமா மருமக வரப்போறா” என்றதும் கிருஷ்ணாவின் முகத்தில் வெட்கம் மின்னல் கீற்று போல வந்து போனது.. இதை பார்க்கத்தான் நான் இத்தனை வருசம் காத்திருந்தேன் தம்பி என்று அவரும் சந்தோசப்பட..
“தூங்குங்கப்பா காலையில உங்களை செக் பண்ண கார்டியோலிஸ்ட் வருவாங்க.. அடுத்த வாரம் நாம ஊருக்கு போலாம்” என்று சொல்ல..
“அப்ப அடுத்த வாரமே நம்ம குலதெய்வக் கோவில்ல உன் கல்யாணத்த முடிச்சுடலாம்ல.. நாளைக்கு என் மருமக வரட்டும் நான் பேசுறேன்” என்றதும்..
“ஐய்யா கொஞ்சம் பொறுமையாயிருங்க உங்க உடம்பு சரியாகட்டும்”
“அட மருமககிட்ட கல்யாண விசயம் பேசும் போது கூட நீ சொன்னதை தான் சொன்னா.. ரெண்டு பேருக்கும் பொருத்தம் அமோகமா இருக்கும் போல” என்றவர் சிரிப்புடன் கண்ணை மூடிப்படுத்துக்கொண்டார்.
அடுத்த நாள் வேலைக்கு கிளம்பிக்கொண்டிருந்த தங்கமீனாவிடம் பிரபு வந்தவன்.. “அக்கா எனக்கு நாளைக்குதான் பேங்க் வேலைக்கு பணம் கட்ட வேண்டிய கடைசிநாள்” என்று கைக்கட்டி நிற்க.
“இன்னிக்கு எம்.டிகிட்ட பேசுறேன்டா.. நீ கவலைப்படாத நாளைக்கு பணம் கட்டிடலாம்” என்று கொண்டையை போட்டு பின் குத்தினாள்.
“மாப்ள பிரபு எங்கயிருக்க” என்று அருள் கையில் மஞ்சள் பையுடன் வீட்டுக்குள் வந்தான்..
மாமா நான் இங்கே இருக்கேன் என்று கையை தூக்கினான்
“இந்தா மாப்ள நீ கேட்ட ஐஞ்சு லட்சம்” என்று பிரபுவின் கையில் கொடுக்க..
“வாவ் சூப்பர்.. தேங்க்ஸ் மாமா” என்று அருளை கட்டிக்கொண்டான் பிரபு..
அப்பாடா எப்படியோ தம்பி வேலைக்கு பணம் கிடைச்சுடுச்சு.. நான் கூட அந்த நெட்டக்கொக்குகிட்ட போய் கைக்கட்டி நிக்கணும்னு நினைச்சேன்.. என்று நிம்மதியாக இருந்தாள்.. ஆனால் கிருஷ்ணாவிடம் போய் பணம் கேட்கும் நிலை வரும் என்று அறியாது போனாள் பெண்ணவள்.
அருளின் பேச்சு சத்தம் கேட்டு அவனுக்கு காபியுடன் வெளியே வந்தாள் கலைவாணி..
“ம்மா மாமா பணம் கொடுத்துட்டாங்க எனக்கு பேங்க் வேலை கிடைச்சிடும்.. இந்த பணத்தை சாமி படத்துகிட்ட வைச்சு பத்திரம் பண்ணுங்க நான் காலேஜ் போய்ட்டு வந்துடறேன்” என்று சந்தோசத்துடன் கிளம்பினான்.. இந்த சந்தோசம் நாளை இருக்காது என்று பிரபுக்கு தெரியவில்லை.
“ம்மா நான் கிளம்புறேன்” என்றதும்..
“நான் கூட்டிட்டு போறேன் அக்கா”
“அதுக்குத்தான வந்திருக்க கூட்டிட்டுப் போடா” என்று சிரித்தார் கலைவாணி.. அருளுக்கு வெட்கம் வந்து விட தங்கமீனாவை கண்டு கண்சிமிட்ட அவள் தலைகுனிந்து கொண்டாள்.. அப்போது கலைவாணியின் தூரத்து சொந்தம் வயதானவர் கலைவாணியின் கணவன் இறப்புக்கு வரமுடியாமல் போக விசாரித்து செல்ல வந்தார்.
“வாங்க சித்தி எப்படியிருக்கீங்க” என்று அவரை உட்கார வைத்து தண்ணீர் கொண்டு வந்து கொடுக்க.. வாங்கிக்குடித்துவிட்டு “என்னடி இப்படியாகிபோச்சு.. உன் புருசன் சாகற வயசா நானெல்லாம் குத்துக்கல்லாட்டம் இருக்கேன் அவன் போய் சேர்ந்துட்டான்”
“என்ன பண்ணறது சித்தி உங்க மருமகன் குடிச்சு குடிச்சு குடல் வெந்து போய் காப்பாத்த முடியலனு டாக்டர் கைவிரிச்சுட்டாங்க” என்று வாயை முந்தானையால் மூடிக்கொண்டு விசும்பினார்.
தங்கமீனாவுக்கு வேலைக்கு நேரமாக.. வந்த உறவினரை கவனிக்கவேண்டுமென காபி போட சமையல் கட்டுக்குச் சென்றாள்.
“சித்தி ஒரு போன் போட்டுக்கூட விசாரித்திருக்கலாம் நீ இவ்ளோ தடுமாறி வந்திருக்கவேணாம்” என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டே அவர் பக்கத்தில் அருள் போய் உட்கார..
“கலைவாணிய நேர்ல பார்த்து விசாரிக்கறது போல இருக்காது அதான் வீட்டுக்கு வந்துட்டேன்.. கொஞ்ச நேரம் கழிச்சு உன் வண்டியில என்ன பஸ் ஸ்டேன்ல கொண்டு போய் விட்ரு நான் ஊருக்கு போயிடுவேன்” என்று சொல்ல..
அதற்குள் தங்கமீனா காபி கொண்டு வர.. “அடடே கலைவாணி உன்பொண்ணு லட்டு போல இருக்கா.. சுத்தி போடுடி” என்று தங்கமீனாவை பார்த்து “கண்ணு படிப்பு முடிச்சிட்டியா”
“ஆமா பாட்டி நான் நர்ஸ் வேலைக்கு படிச்சு முடிச்சு இப்போ ஹாஸ்பிட்டலுக்கு வேலைக்கு போறேன்” என்றதும்..
“நல்லது தாயி.. உங்க அம்மாவ நல்லா பார்த்துக்குங்கோ” என்று காபியை குடித்து முடித்து
“கலைவாணி உன்பொண்ணுக்கு சீக்கிரம் கல்யாணம் பண்ணிடு.. இறந்த வீட்ல ஒரு நல்லது பண்ணனும்னு சொல்வாங்க” என்றதும்..
அருளின் முகம் தௌசன்ட் வாட்ஸ் பல்பு போல எரிந்தது.. தங்கமீனாவுக்கு பயம் வந்துவிட்டது கிருஷ்ணாவை எண்ணி.. நேற்று மாலை உன் கழுத்துல நான்தான் தாலி கட்டுவேன் என்று உறுதியாக சொன்னானே அதை நினைத்து அவளது கால்கள் தானாக நடுங்கியது.
“சித்தி அப்போ இந்த மாசமே கல்யாண ஏற்பாட்டை பண்ணிடறேன்” என்று மனநிறைவுடன் கலைவாணி கூற.
“ஆமாக்கா சீக்கிரம் ஏற்பாடு பண்ணுங்க.. நான் நாளைக்கே தாலி செயின் பண்ண ஆர்டர் கொடுக்குறேன்” என்றான் அருள் ஆர்வமாக.
“என்னடா மகனே கல்யாணத்துக்கு அவசரமோ.. தாலிக்கொடி நல்ல நாள் பார்த்து வாங்கணும்” என்று கலைவாணியின் சித்தி அருள் கன்னத்தில் இடித்தார்.
“பாட்டி எனக்கு வேலைக்கு நேரமாச்சு நான் கிளம்புறேன்.. மாமா நீங்க பாட்டிய பஸ் ஸ்டேன்ல விட்டிருங்க.. நான் ஆட்டோ பிடிச்சு போய்க்குறேன்” என்று பேக்கை எடுத்து மாட்டிக்கொண்டு கலைவாணியிடம் சொல்லிவிட்டு கிளம்பினாள்.
“ம்ஹும் இந்த கிழவி வந்து தங்கா என்னோட வருவதை தடுத்துருச்சு.. ஆனாலும் என் கல்யாணத்துக்கு வழி பண்ணிக்கொடுத்துடுச்சு அதுவே சந்தோசம்” என்று எண்ணினான்.
தங்கமீனா ஹாஸ்பிட்டலுக்கு லேட்டாக சென்றாள்.. ரிசப்சனுக்குள் நுழைய.. “மேடம் உங்கள எம்.டி சார் ரூமுக்கு வந்துட்டு போக சொன்னாரு”
“ம்ம்.. சரிங்க என்று ரிசப்சனில் இருந்த பெண்மணியிடம் தலையாட்டிவிட்டு அவன் அறையை நோக்கி சென்றவள் மனம் அடித்துக்கொண்டது.. அச்சோ லேட்டாகிடுச்சுன்னு திட்டுவாரா.. நம்மள வேலையை விட்டெல்லாம் தூக்கமாட்டாரு.. இருந்தாலும் பயமா இருக்கு.. என்று எண்ணிக்கொண்டே கிருஷ்ணாவின் அறைக்குச்சென்றாள்.. இன்று மாலைதான் ஒரு ஆப்ரேசன் அவனுக்கு இருக்கு.. இப்போது அவன் பிரியாக தான் இருக்கான்.. ஆடு தானாக சென்று மாட்டிப்போகுது சிங்கத்துக்கிட்டே..
சிங்கம் சும்மா இருக்குமா …
“எக்ஸ். கியூஸ்.மீ டாக்டர்” என்று அவள் கதவை நாக் செய்ய..
“எஸ். கம். இன்” என்று இரும்புக்குரல் அவளை வரவேற்க.
கதவை திறந்து கொண்டு உள்ளே செல்ல.. அவன் நாற்காலியில் இல்லை.
“டாக்டர் எங்கயிருக்கீங்க” என்று மெல்ல கூப்பிட்டு பார்த்தாள் தங்கமீனா.
“இங்க அறைக்குள்ள வா கோல்ட்” என்று சிறிய சமையல்கட்டில் காபி போட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.. தயங்கியபடியே உள்ளே சென்றாள்.
அங்கே ஒரு சிறிய அறையில் கட்டிலும், பக்கத்து அறையில் அடுப்பும், சமையல் செய்யும் பொருட்களும் இருந்தது.. காபி கோப்பையை கையில் வைத்துக்கொண்டு தங்கமீனா இருக்கும் இடத்திற்கு வந்தவன் “காபி குடுக்கிறயா” எனக்கேட்டான்..
“எனக்கு வேண்டாம்.. நான் இந்த நேரத்துல காபி குடிக்கமாட்டேன்” என்று ஷாலின் நுனியை திருகிக்கொண்டு நின்றாள்.
“இதுதான் ஹாஸ்பிட்டல் வர டைம்மா.. லேட்டா வந்தவங்களுக்கு நான் என்ன பனிஷ்மெண்ட் கொடுப்பேன் தெரியுமா” நெற்றியை சுருக்கி கேட்க.

தங்கமீனா பேசிய வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாம் அவனுக்கு மிளகாய் அரைத்து தடவினது போலிருக்க.. அதை மறைத்து ஹா ஹா வெனெ நகைத்தவன் அவள் கன்னம் தாங்கி “நேத்து தான நான் கிளிப்பிள்ளைக்கு சொல்றது போல சொன்னேன் மறுபடி மறுபடி என்ன பேச வைக்காத.. எப்படியிருந்தாலும் நான் தான் உன் கழுத்துல தாலி கட்டுவேன்” என்று அவள் இதழை அழுத்தமாக முத்தமிடத்துவங்கினான்..
வழக்கம் போல ரிமோட்டால் கதவை லாக்செய்துவிட்டு அவளிடம் சில்மிஷம் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தான்.. எப்போதும் இடையில் மட்டும் அவன் விரல்கள் தாண்டவமாடும்.. ஆனால் இன்றோ அதற்குமேல் மென்பருத்தி பாகம் தொட்டுவிட விளையாட தங்கமீனாவின் உடல் விறைத்து நின்றது.. ஆடைக்கு மேலாக தொடும் சேட்டையை இன்று ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டான்.. அவன் கையில் குறுமிளகு கிடைத்து விரலால் சோதித்து விளையாடியவன்.. அதில் உதடு வைத்து பார்க்க ஆசைபட்டு அவள் திமிற திமிற டாப்பை விலக்கி குறுமிளகு பழத்தை கவ்விக்கொண்டு அவளுக்கு சோதனை கொடுத்தான்.. பெண்ணவளை தன் வசம் படுத்திக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.. இனி அவள் மாமனை கனவில் கூட நினைக்க கூடாதென்று அவளிடம் எல்லை மீறத்தொடங்கினான்.
“டாக்டர் ப்ளீஸ் ப்ளீஸ் வேணாம்” என்ற அவள் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாம் காற்றோடு கலந்து சென்றது.
அங்கோ கலைவாணி.. கிருஷ்ணா சொன்ன அதே நாளில் அவர்களுக்கு திருமணம் முடிவு செய்துவிட்டார்.
